Hoelzel, a 2003 graduate of Shawnee Heights High School who now lives with his wife, Patricia, in Half Moon Bay, Calif., is looking for ways to clean up the world's waterways, but is starting in his own backyard. Hoelzel is visiting state capitals across the United States to pitch his idea for states to require a deposit on all plastic drink bottles.
