Groundwater near a Pacific Gas & Electric crew's excavation appeared to cause damage at the intersection of Christy and Albrae streets early Saturday, and workers have been assessing and fixing the damage since then, police said. Union Sanitary District spokeswoman Michelle Powell said the PG&E crew had asked district crews to assess a 30-foot stretch of pipeline in their way around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, but tests had found the pipeline was dry with no sewage leaks.
