BusinessGreen: Google has this week boosted its renewable energy portfolio by investing $200m in a wind farm in west Texas. The company announced yesterday a deal had been reached for the 161MW Spinning Spur wind project in Oldham County, 35 miles from Amarillo, which was developed by EDF Renewable Energy. The wind farm became operational just before the turn of the year and is expected to provide enough power for around 60,000 homes.
