Google revenue growth slows to 13% in Q1 on drop in ad spending

(Telecompaper) Google's parent company Alphabet reported a slowdown in first-quarter revenue growth, as the Covid-19 pandemic led to a drop in advertising on the search engine from March. Revenues rose 13 percent year-on-year to USD 41.2 billion, down from 17 percent annual growth a year earlier and in Q4. Google confirmed it would slow hiring and capex in response to the weaker economic climate.� [ more ]
