(Telecompaper) Alphabet parent company Google will not take part in the FCC's 600 MHz spectrum auction starting on 29 March. The company told Reuters, "Like all those interested in improved connectivity and equitable access, we'll be following the upcoming spectrum auction closely. That said, we have not filed to participate." Some industry observers had expected Google to be a dark horse in the auction. Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile US and Comcast have said they would take part in the upcoming auction, whose application deadline ended on 10 February.
