It was a day of firsts for both Gary Gaulding and Derek Thorn. Gary Gaulding won his first race, giving him the record for youngest winner of a NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race. In addition, this race also crowned Derek Thorn as the 2013 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Champion.
