Blue and Green: The UNs World Heritage Committee has said the Australian reef should not be listed as in danger, but added that the country must submit a report with a long-term conservation plan by December next year to address environmental threats. UNESCO issued a draft report saying that coastal development, pollution and climate change represent major threats to the Great Barrier Reef, whose status has worsened since 2009 and is expected to further deteriorate in the future.
