Agence-France Presse: China burned less coal and generated more electricity from renewable sources last year to help global carbon dioxide emissions from the energy sector stall.
It was the first time there has been such a halt in 40 years during a period of economic growth, the International Energy Agency said.
The slowdown came thanks to "changing patterns of energy consumption in China and OECD countries", it said.
