Group says new Las Vegas Strip resort-casino to rise by 2018

The developer of a sprawling Asian-themed casino-resort on the Las Vegas Strip says the property is expected to open by early 2018 on the former site of the Stardust Hotel. Officials from Malaysia-based Genting Group were scheduled to break ground Tuesday afternoon on Resorts World Las Vegas on the 88-acre site next to Circus Circus, signaling the start of construction.
