HEI waives age requirement for board member because of NextEra sale

Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc.'s board of directors have nominated three current directors to be re-elected at its annual meeting in August to serve until 2018, including one director whose age limitation was waived by the board. The directors vying for re-election include Connie Lau , its president and CEO; A. Maurice Myers , former president and CEO of Waste Management Inc.; and James Scott , president of Punahou School, according to a public filing on Friday.
