Hanesbrands completes $200M purchase of apparel competitor

Winston-Salem-based Hanesbrands Inc. said Wednesday that it has completed the acquisition of Spartanburg, S.C.-based Knights Apparel in a $200 million deal that will give it a stronger position in the licensed and graphic apparel industry. The acquisition of the collegiate logo apparel company from Merit Capital Partners closed as expected on April 6, with the all-cash transaction valuing Knights at approximately $200 million.
