(Telecompaper) Thomson Video Networks (TVN) has announced that it has received a binding offer for 100 percent of the company from video delivery infrastructure developer Harmonic. France-based TVN said the proposed transaction is consistent with the strategy to accelerate its development by giving the company greater global scale and resources. It added that the combination would create a clear market leader in video delivery and that the transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of next year, subject to shareholder and regulatory approval. Harmonic subsequently announced that it had offered around USD 75 million in cash plus up to USD 15 million in post-closing adjustments for all of TVN.
