The addition of Hawaiian Airlines ' nonstop flights from Honolulu to Sendai , Japan marks the first flights between Hawaii and Sendai since 2004 and is one of the first services at the recently reopened Sendai Airport following the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
