Heavyweight cattle persist but show glimmers of improvement

Although year-to-year feedlot placements continue to be less, placements of cattle weighing more than 800 pounds continue to increase. According to the November Cattle on Feed report, 2.28 million head were placed in October, which was 4% less than a year earlier.
