The series of beeps you've been hearing on WIBW-TV over the past few days is part of a new, federally-mandated audio alert system. The Federal Communications Commission now requires all television stations to add an audio alert anytime it activates weather and emergency alerts, closing and cancellation information, and Amber Alerts.
