The 2013 Honda Civic Hybrid doesnt get the kind of attention in the hybrid market that others are getting such as Ford and Toyota but the Civic Hybrid is getting 44 mpg combined and sells for a very competitive price.
In Europe, things are a bit different its a five-door hatchback rather than a four-door sedan like it is in the States. The styling is more space age. And one other difference the diesel engine versions has the potential to get 60 mpg.
Honda says it gets 65.3 mpg for the 1.6L four cylinder diesel Civic. Green Car Reports did more than 900 miles of mostly highway driving in the UK with a bit of traffic congestion; trip computer figure of 74.5 mpg in imperial gallons translates to 62 mpg US.
Civic competes in US and Europe in the compact class against rivals such as Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf.
Honda does also offer a 2.2-liter diesel model with more performance and slightly less economy, so diesel buyers aren't stuck with a lower-powered model.
There are a few reasons why this car wont reach US shores.
