Hoover arm bids for assets of Oreck Corp.

A company affiliated with vacuum cleaner manufacturer Hoover has submitted a bid to buy the assets of Nashville-based competitor Oreck Corp., which filed for bankruptcy reorganization in May. The Royal Appliance Manufacturing Co., which along with Hoover is a wholly owned subsidiary of Techtronic Industrites Co.
