The FTC is expected to make a decision as to whether or not it will sue to halt the merger that would join together the top two food distributors in the U.S., by the end of October, the Post added. Those opposing the deal believe the merger would give the company too much power, and could result in a hike in prices for meat, produce, and frozen and prepared foods, the Post noted.
