When it sells to a foreign company, it is big news. When the company is from China, it is really big news. And when word of the transaction is successfully kept under wraps, it qualifies as shocking. All of those descriptions apply to last week’s news that Smithfield Foods will be purchased by Henan Shuanghui of China, writes Steve Meyer in this week's "Market Preview" featured in National Hog Farmer magazine.
