(Telecompaper) Huawei announced that it has been awarded a five-year agreement by Vodafone to expand the mobile operator's use of the SingleRAN platform, as part of its Project Spring investment programme. Under the contract, Huawei will deliver a number of network enhancement projects including both products and services for Vodafone radio access networks in 15 countries, including the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, South Africa, Mozambique, Lesotho, DRC and Ghana. The projects use Huawei's SingleRAN platform and beam-forming Active Antenna System to expand and strengthen Vodafone's mobile coverage. Ericsson and Nokia Solutions and Networks announced earlier similar five-year contracts for Vodafone's radio networks.
