Energy Department's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and Idaho National Laboratory (INL) successfully demonstrated ability to connect grid simulations at their 2 labs for real-time interaction via Internet. This capability enables modeling of power grids in greater detail by allowing software and equipment anywhere worldwide to establish real-time connection to facilities and capabilities available within DOE national laboratory complex.
