VERNON >> Flooding this week prompted a boat evacuation from a home, but officials say there's likely little they can do to prevent the same thing from happening again. A quick, effective response from Vernon Fire Department, Rescue Inc. and Windham County Sheriff's Department led to a safe evacuation.
