Illinois attorney outlines plan to sue Whirlpool for Fort Smith pollution

The Fort Smith Board of Directors for the first time Tuesday heard from an attorney who believes the city may have the authority to level fines against Whirlpool Corp. for its admitted pollution of groundwater in and around the area of the company's former manufacturing facility in south Fort Smith.
