Inland Empire logistics industry watchers remain concerned over ports

Inland Empire business leaders and experts said Monday the deal reached to end the labor dispute that caused goods movement to slow down significantly at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach might have lasting negative impacts for the logistics sector in the region. The tentative agreement the International Longshoremen and Warehouse Union and the Pacific Maritime Association reached on Friday is expected to mean five years of peace between the parties and a return to business as usual after the contract dispute had led to a severe slowdown of goods at the ports.
