(Telecompaper) Instagram has introduced Instagram Direct, a new way for users to send photo and video messages to friends. Now when users open Instagram they will see a new icon in the top right corner of the home feed. Once users tap the icon they will see photos and videos that others have sent them. To send a photo or video to a specific person, users tap the camera button to enter the photo or video capture and editing screens. At the top of the share screen, the option to share with followers or send to a specific person (Direct) will be displayed. To send using Direct, users tap the names of the people they want to sent their photo or video to, write their caption and tap "send" when done. After sending, consumers will be able to see who's viewed their photo or video, see who's liked it and watch their recipients commenting in real time. If someone a user is not following sends them a video or photo they have the option to view it or not. Instagram for iOS version 5.0 is available for download in the Apple App Store and for Android on Google Play. Instagram for Windows Phone is currently in beta.
