(Telecompaper) Intel has raised its quarterly guidance to reflect increasing revenue driven mainly by hardware makers replenishing their PC supply chain inventory and by "some signs of improving PC demand". The company announced that it now expects third-quarter revenue to be USD 15.6 billion, plus or minus USD 300 million, compared to the previous range of USD 14.9 billion, plus or minus USD 500 million. Intel also raised its third quarter gross margin forecast by two percentage points, from 60 to 62 percent, driven mostly by higher PC unit volume.
