International Paper squares off with county over taxes

Late last month, the company filed a lawsuit against the county, claiming it paid $2.7 million too much in machinery and tools taxes between 2012 and 2014. The suit, filed in Isle of Wight County Circuit Court, said International Paper paid the county a total of about $6.6 million in taxes from 2012 to 2014.
