The spot now serves as a convenience center for trash disposal and Waste Management operates another landfill in the northern portion of the county off Route 17. To cover post-closure care at the Beehive Drive landfill space, the county has budgeted $9,000 in fiscal year 2015. According to Maria Calloway, Gloucester's accounting manager, the line item includes an annual fee to the Department of Environmental Quality as well as grass cutting and other maintenance.
