(Telecompaper) JDSU has acquired Arieso, a global specialist in location-aware software, for USD 85 million in cash. Headquartered in the UK, Arieso brings mobile software engineering expertise to JDSU. JDSU will integrate Arieso's products with complementary services such as PacketPortal, JDSU's open software platform. Due to the effect of purchase accounting on deferred revenue existing at close and ratable revenue recognition for new software sales under GAAP, the transaction will contribute nominal revenue in the remainder of JDSU's fiscal third quarter, and result in an incremental expense on a non-GAAP basis of USD 1-2 million.
