(Telecompaper) KPN announced the milestone of its 1,000th 4G+ antenna activated, in The Hague. The company said this puts it on track to meet its targets for the roll-out of LTE-Advanced. The Dutch operator is using carrier aggregation to deliver speeds up to 225 Mbps download and 35Mbps upload. KPN said it expects the number of customers with 4G+ compatible handsets to grow quickly, thanks to recent launches like the Samsung S6 and Edge and the latest iPhones. Both KPN and Vodafone started the roll-out of 4G+ late last year, and Vodafone recently announced the faster service is available in 130 municipalities. T-Mobile is expected to start testing LTE-Advanced in November.
