Kansas State University's annual Swine Day will be held Nov. 21, 2013 at the K-State Alumni Center in Manhattan, KS. This year's program will focus on ways to improve net returns for swine businesses, with a special emphasis on swine disease prevention. Steve Henry, DVM, Abilene (KS) Animal Hospital, and Dick Hesse of K-State will discuss porcine epidemic diarrhea virus. Charles Stark, K-State associate professor of Grain Science and Industry, will report on recent on-farm and commercial feedmill innovations to improve whole herd feed efficiency. The day ends with a tour of the O.H. Kruse Feed Technology Innovation Center Feedmill and a reception featuring K-State ice cream.   read more
