(Telecompaper) Kazakhstan mobile operator Kcell, controlled by the Telia group, has launched its LTE network and announced a network-sharing project with rival Beeline. The network launch was implemented in partnership with Ericsson, and the 4G service initially covers the cities of Almaty, Atyrau, Aktau and Shymkent. Under the network-sharing agreement with mobile operator Kar-Tel, working under the Beeline Kazakhstan brand and owned by VimpelCom, Kcell subscribers will be able to access LTE services in nine other cities.
