Using single Light Guide with LEDs on 1 or 2 edges, fixtures can emit light upward and downward, while varying distribution pattern from top to bottom. One such option is light guide that will produce batwing distribution in upward direction, while maintaining more direct distribution in downward direction. This would allow proper illumination of table or desk below light guide while simultaneously allowing indirect lighting of room from upward distribution.
