LR Wastewater requests deferral to fix overflows

Little Rock Wastewater has asked for another extension of its deadline to comply with a 15-year-old lawsuit settlement meant to mitigate citywide sewer overflows, Chief Executive Officer Greg Ramon said Wednesday. An extension could lessen the blow of future sewer-rate increases needed to pay for the millions of dollars of capital improvements required under a 2001 settlement agreement with the Sierra Club, Ramon said.
