LabCorp to buy Covance for $6.1 billion

One of the nation's largest medical testing companies, Laboratory Corp. of America Holdings , agreed Monday to buy Princeton, New Jersey-based Covance for approximately $6.1 billion. Covance is a global contract research organization that conducts clinical trials of new drug candidates for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
