Lafayette Council approves new rules for feral cats, dangerous dogs

Lafayette city leaders hope new rules will help regulate an out-of-control feral cat population estimated at 25,000 inside city limits, as well as out-of-control dogs. Now, animal control officers can force owners of dangerous dogs to have proof of insurance before getting their dogs back as well as having them be muzzled in public.
