2019-03-04 07:10:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Week 9 started off with the Oscars awards ceremony, resulting in considerable wins for Netflix (-1.6%) and Comcast (+1.3%). Walt Disney, while expanding in streaming video, could benefit in a similar way from the announced Avatar 2 movie, coming to theatres in 2020. Electronic Arts (+1.6%) appears to be less successful with the release of its latest big game, Anthem. In other news, EA as well as Comcast and Amazon were mentioned as possible buyers of NXC Corp, the holding firm of games publisher Nexon. The Telecompaper Stock Index Global Media ended week 9 up 0.7 percent, ahead of the unchanged Dow Jones Industrials index.
