Local shares tumble but remain above 8,300 points

Shares in Taiwan closed lower Monday but remained above the 8,300-point mark after shares in Europe and the United States tumbled Friday following the U.S. Federal Reserve's decision to leave its key interest rate unchanged, dealers said. Taiwan shares closed down 155.10 points, or 1.83 percent, at 8,307.04 after moving between 8,381.58 and 8,404.50, on anemic turnover of NT$75.67 billion .
