U.K. stocks sprang higher Tuesday, as broad-based gains pushed the benchmark FTSE 100 toward its strongest gain in more than a month. rose 1.6% to 6,241.90, cruising toward its biggest percentage gain since a 2.8% leap on Oct. 5.
