MTA: Long Island Rail Road's Port Jefferson line halted for police investigation

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has suspended service on the Port Jefferson line of the Long Island Rail Road while police investigate an incident at the Port Jefferson station. According to an alert on the MTA website posted at about 9:10 a.m., service was halted in both directions between Port Jefferson and Stony Brook, and officials were trying to secure buses.
