(Telecompaper) Russia and CIS operator Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) said first-quarter revenues increased 1.9 percent year-over-year to RUB 92.9 billion. This was led by a 7 percent increase in mobile service revenue in Russia to RUB 63 billion, while growth was held back by the suspension of operations in Uzbekistan. Adjusted OIBDA increased 2.6 percent to RUB 39.1 billion, and the group adjusted OIBDA margin improved 0.3 percentage points to 42.1 percent. Net income fell 16.9 percent to RUB 13.0 billion, hurt by forex losses of RUB 1.5 billion. Free cash flow reached RUB 24 billion, and total debt dropped slightly to RUB 222 billion.
