Maple Leaf Foods says the cost of closing down some of its older plants, including one in New Brunswick, and shifting production to a new facility in Hamilton, Ont., ate into its profits in the latest quarter. The Toronto-based meat processor reported a net loss of $26.7 million or 19 cents per share in the three-months ended Sept.
