(Telecompaper) Microsoft announced that its SkyDrive online storage service will soon change name, to OneDrive. The company believes the new OneDrive name conveys the value it can deliver for customers and represents its vision for the future. For current users of either SkyDrive or SkyDrive Pro, the service will continue to operate as expected and all content will be available on OneDrive and OneDrive for Business, respectively, as the new name is rolled out across the portfolio. The name change follows a lawsuit won by UK pay-TV provider BSkyB over the rights to the SkyDrive name. Microsoft announced in July a settlement with BSkyB that would allow it to transition to a new branding for the storage service.
