(Telecompaper) Motorola has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Droid Turbo, at a Verizon Wireless event. At the unveiling Verizon focused on the device's 3,900 mAh battery that it claimed provided a battery life of up to 48 hours per charge. Verizon added that users can get eight hours of battery life in 15 just minutes by using a special turbo charger sold with the phone. The Android-powered Droid Turbo comes with a 2.7GHz quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM and a 21MP camera with dual-LED flash and 4K video. The device also includes a 5.2-inch, quad-HD display and supports Verizon's "XLTE" AWS network, which promises twice the bandwidth of traditional 4G LTE. The 32GB version comes in three colours metallic black, metallic red and ballistic nylon and costs USD 199 on contract. A high-end 64GB ballistic nylon version costs USD 249. The phone will be available exclusively on Verizon Wireless on 30 October.
