N.C. cities approve $1.2B deal with Duke Energy; sale could close soon

All the cities in the N.C. Eastern Municipal Power Authority have now approved the necessary contracts to sell Duke Energy Progress $1.2 billion worth of their power-generation assets. Now Charlotte-based Duke needs only to gain final approval from state and federal regulators for the deal to be completed.
