NJ Transit chief stepping down to take over NYC Transit

After less than two years on the job, NJ Transit Executive Director Veronique "Ronnie" Hakim said Tuesday that she will resign at the end of the year. She is moving to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, where she has spent much of her career, to become the leader of the New York City Transit, which operates subways and buses.
