Turning old phone booths into public Wi-Fi hotspots may seem like a great way to increase connectivity so people don't have to rely as much on using their data, but the New York Civil Liberties Union's latest report may have you reconsidering connecting to the free service. LinkNYC is a project backed by Mayor Bill de Blasio, and it's primarily being funded and operated by a consortium of companies including Qualcomm, Intersection, and Civiq Smartscapes.
