NYPD searching for suspect in armed robbery of Graniteville shoe store

The robbery took place at the Payless ShoeSource at 965 Richmond Ave. -- inside the Forest Promenade strip mall and across the street from the NYPD's 121st Precinct stationhouse -- at about 6:25 p.m. He's described as a black man in his early 30s, wearing a black hat and black jacket, the spokeswoman said. Police searched the area, and called a "level 1 mobilization" to bring additional NYPD units to the scene, but could not find the suspect.
