New L.A. district budget figures say iPods will cost $100 more apiece

Providing Apple iPads to all students in the Los Angeles Unified District will cost nearly $100 more apiece — or $770 per tablet. The Los Angeles Times says the discounted price of $678 per device that was previously disclosed does not take effect until the school system has spent $400 million on iPads.
