Nigerian govt plans partial import ban to protect ICT investment, suspends NigComSat privatisation

(Telecompaper) The ICT Ministry says a policy document seeking to protect Nigerian investors in the ICT sector is under way, ThisDay reported. Minister Isa Ibrahim said the policy blueprint, which is still being drafted, would enable the establishment of a subsidiary agency which, among other things, will ensure that no technological products, services or inputs are imported, except where the country lacks the expertise or capacity to administer. He added that plans to privatise NigComSat have been suspended,
